Los Angeles Times reporter Eve Diamond is working at the airport when a flight from Beijing arrives. Suddenly shots ring out and three people are dead, including an elegant woman carrying a toddler. Who is this sad little girl? Her passport says she's Japanese, but she doesn't seem to understand the language. Was the dead woman really her mother?
