Verbal and visual snapshots open this exciting and exuberant issue and a strong Auckland strand runs through to the review section. Well-known literary artists - including Paula Green, Daren Kamali, Murray Edmond, Stephanie Christie, and more - will take readers on journeys to Bethells, Otara, St. Lukes, Remuera's northern slopes, and Greenlane. The issue is essay-rich, and includes 'Landfall Essay Competition 2012' runner-up Majella Cullinane. Also, there are poems and/or fiction from Peter Bland, Riemke Ensing, Cilla McQueen, Owen Marshall, Emma Neale, and others. Landfall 225 features photography portfolios from Harvey Benge and emerging artist Greta Anderson, along with back-page graphic art by Samantha Michell - all are Auckland-based artists. And, the 'Landfall Review' section features a number of recent books, including a poetry collection by the German refugee Karl Wolfskehl - an Auckland-based contemporary of Frank Sargeson - which has been published by Holloway Press.
