In this book I have gathered together 25 outstanding circular walks, each of which follows the course of a river, canal or the Lancashire shoreline. All the walks may be accessed from either the M6 or M65/A65 corridors, making the starting points within an hour's drive from the Manchester and Merseyside conurbations. Lancashire has some great walks and interest here on our doorstep, and are easily accessible when a quick decision is made to take advantage of a spell of fair weather for a local walk.
