Lalo Moves to the City Lalo is from the breed of dogs known as Weimaraners. In the early 19th century this breed was used by royalty for hunting boar, bear, and deer. Lalo was a rescue from a Dog Shelter in Rhode Island and came to live in Pelham Massachusetts. Lalo has had many adventures since then and this book, as well as others to come, talk about how he overcomes many of life's little dramas. These adventures can serve as an example for children experiencing changes in their lives. "Lalo moves to the City", addresses the difficulty of leaving something very familiar and going to place that is new and unknown. The author is an elementary school substitute teacher in New York City and has also written the children's book "The Too New Detective Agency of Queens", which follows the adventures of fourth graders Simone and Malik as they help solve three cases in the borough of Queens New York.
