Le Rabbin Salomon Malka zt'l, avait entrepris depuis plusieurs années de raconter l'histoire de la bible. Il écrivait le fascicule hebdomadaire de la synagogue, pointant dans un texte court et concis tel ou tel point de la Paracha sur lequel il lui semblait nécessaire d'appuyer.
Mais il semble qu'il ne limita pas sa rédaction aux fascicules officiels. En parallèle à ses écrits hebdomadaires, il composait une sorte de résumé de la Paracha avec une intention lointaine d'éditer, peut-être un jour un bréviaire de la torah.
Etant occupé aux services de la synagogue ou pris par ses devoirs consistoriaux aux Beth DIN de Paris, au bureau des divorces, notamment, il fallait trouver le temps pour rédiger ce qui ressort d'un projet privé long et fastidieux. Mais c'est sur le long terme qu'il voyait.
Cependant, les textes qu'il a écrits ne sont pas sortis au grand jour.
Il s'agissait donc d'écrire son propre Michné Torah en français, de raconter sa torah, son Talnakh.
Il avait donc écrits une première version qui pouvait servir de base pour ses fascicules, comme un aide-mémoire des sujets principaux de la Paracha qu'il pourrait consulter à sa guise pour s'en inspirer. Ou peut-être était-ce là l'ébauche de ce projet mosaïque.
Cependant, il avait démarré tardivement une autre version du même projet dont l'introduction commence par la présentation d'un étrange personnage: Le Rimeur .
Cette version est inachevée et semble être un retravaille des premières ébauches de Berechith. Le présent livre contiendra donc les deux versions de cette collection de textes.
Mais qui est ce rimeur et pourquoi l'avoir introduit dans l'histoire de la bible ?
Peut-être enfin que le rabbin Salomon Malka zt'l, ne pouvait pas, par nature, se mettre en avant avec la prétention d'écrire ce qui a déjà été écrits ailleurs en long en large et par tant d'autres. Alors le rimeur viendrait, dans une certaine mesure, témoigner de sa modestie. Car certes, c'est bien le rabbin qui a écrit ces textes, mais c'est le rimeur qui est en lui qui a poussé à l'écriture. Ce rimeur qui ne pouvait pas s'empêcher d'écrire sur son sujet préférer dans la langue de Molière. La Torah.
