Publisher's Synopsis
In 1909 two young Indian boys are playing on the sandy banks of the River Adyar in Tamil Nadu when an old man with a long grey beard rises up out of the water next to them. They are terrified because they think he is a ghost, but he talks to them in English. What they don't realise is that he is a clairvoyant and Master of the Occult. He will soon declare the oldest boy, Krishnamurti, to be the future Messiah who will lead the world into a new age. The boys watch him warily. Krishnamurti will be isolated, stripped of his Indian culture and groomed for greatness within the ex-pat British community that resides nearby. Their lives will be changed forever. This is a true story.
