This text is concerned with all aspects of vegetable growing, from planting to marketing, and aims to reflect the many technological advances, additions to the nomenclature, and changes in government regulations, that have occurred since 1980. The section on plant growing and greenhouse vegetable production has been expanded and contains new information on strawberry cultivation. Other additions include coverage of integrated pest management, soil solarization, row covers, polyethylene mulches, gel seeding, seed priming, and compatibility of produce in mixed loads. Also new to this edition is a discussion of alternative methods of vegetable marketing. Appendixes include an extensive list of references, conversion factors for US and metric units, and useful conversions for rates of application.
