In the 1890's political conflict between expansionist Russia and Great Britain is spinning out of control. The 'Great Game' is playing out over Central Asia and threatening the frontiers of the British Raj in India. Kim is an orphaned son of an Irish soldier who earns his living on the streets of Lahore.
