Awe ... The streets of Key West. Love them or hate them. It seems once you fit here, you fit no where else on earth. Happiness and sorrow for the locals is felt island wide. Friends and foes come together in time of need. Kinda like the old saying. That is my little brother, I can beat him up, but you can not - It is hard to explain to young hearts how short life really is. As I recall those who tried to teach me this lesson, but I guess that must part of the growing process. Perhaps no such a hard lesson to learn, but for sure, a hard one to accept. The knock at the door can come suddenly. The short stories within are based upon true happenings to my family and myself. Some sad enough to break your heart, but no self pity will be found.
