Billions of Naira lay buried beneath the soils of Ogoni in Rivers State of Nigeria. Between 1958 and 1988, SHELL, a multi-national Oil Company operating in Nigeria had allegedly sucked up over 30 billion Naira, yet leaving the once fertile soil barren. The streams and rivers soon became death traps for fishes and crabs because of its oil spillages. It is time to confront such brazen atrocity on the people and KEN SARO-WIWA mobilizes his kinsmen, albeit through non-violent Ghandian approach, to seek redress and demand for a portion of what rightly belongs to them. But the powers that be did not find this funny. They hanged Ken and his men and pitted the Ogonis against one another.
