Publisher's Synopsis
When they met: He smelled good. Too good. She couldn't really be attracted to this total stranger, could she? Her pupils were dilated and he couldn't help looking longingly at her mouth. He gave in. Rational thought evaporated and he brushed his lips gently against hers... When the flames ignited: Rebecca felt herself melt against him. His powerful body, awake with desire, and intimately fit to hers was driving her mad! She wanted to let this go on. She wanted him and all he could offer her. .. But did she really? When he fell in love: Cameron stared at her a moment longer, cursing the enigma that was this woman. Loving the mystery that was Rebecca with all his heart, and damning her stubborn evasiveness at the same time. In certain moments, he felt as if they were one being. She made him feel complete, whole. Even though he hadn't known his life was lacking anything, now, when they were apart, he felt as though a piece of himself was missing. He couldn't explain it. He knew she must feel this soul-connection too. So what kept her from admitting it? When he left: "Goodbye," she said again, clinging to Cameron in the doorway. "I'll call," he assured her, and didn't understand why she was shaking her head. "Not too often. I-I'll miss you too much if you do," she confessed. His voice was hoarse. "OK." Running straight for the bathroom, she let the tears fall, and they ran in rivulets down her face. Cameron stood looking dumbly at the door that had just slammed shut, missing his nose by mere inches. He wanted desperately to go after her. To soothe her sadness away. To kiss her and hold her until she stopped crying. To tell her everything was going to be OK. But, was it? He was leaving again and he couldn't change that.
