Publisher's Synopsis
In the year 2010, an eccentric Gen-Xer travelled the United States searching for validation and purpose. These are his pages. His search was motivated by the confusion of being a humanitarian trapped within the demanding world of consumerism, excess, and superficiality.
Approaching a midlife event and amidst a meaningless existence ripe with dissonance and confusion for the future, he departs the comfort of his chaos in search for a more meaningful connection. With no formal agenda, outside a couple scheduled stops, we follow our antihero Francis from the grimy depths of a three day music festival in Tennessee on to some choice locales in the United States including Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, PA, a game at Wrigley Field Chicago, a questionable locale in South Dakota, an unlikely stop in Wyoming and Denver, a harrowing escape in The Badlands, and a electrolyte-less excursion into the Grand Canyon where a being from the past may or my not be, among others.
Intermingled with the random thoughts and segues of an educated, yet naive traveler, the search for an identifiable conduit that transcends the abstract confusion of the human experience into a tangible understanding with sound and definable parameters ensues.
During a time where our body and souls has been consumed with the anxiety of being socially distant, let go and return to a world only a short time ago where the soul was free, where the roads were the open and the launching pads to increased awareness and creativity; Where an idea of hope was operationalized every second of our opportunistic lives and yet poorly under appreciated.
Karmic Payment Plan is a fun, raunchy, and innocent tale set within the confines of a profound existential understanding. A fun read filled with off color humor, stage-scripted dialogue, and an experiential process that tugs on the thread of a good hearted soul that once pulled, will continue to unravel all emotions until the final page.
