Publisher's Synopsis
'Border Dawn' tells the story of a ruthless rancher's scheme to plug up other ranchers' access to water from the Blue River. Helping the rancher is the town sheriff, who has sold his integrity for some easy cash. But a stranger in town, a man who's a former deputy sheriff himself, doesn't cotton to this sort of disreputable behavior, and he intends to take a stand, even if he does it all alone. In 'Kansas Kid', a fight outside a saloon turns deadly, and the instigator, who was too drunk to know when he should have backed away, is killed. The other participant, another stranger, is tossed in jail. And then things turn weird: the dead man, the guy who started the fight, was only pretending to be drunk.
