Publisher's Synopsis
Anime feature set in feudal Japan, in the middle of a protracted battle for control of the capital city, Kyo. When a young girl called Kintoki is orphaned by her vicious uncle, she runs off into the mountains and is taken in by the locals. Living a harsh life, and renamed 'Kai Doh Maru', she is finally rescued by Raiko, a brave knight who trains her in the martial arts. In the middle of this time of war, Kai Doh Maru finds herself falling in love with Raiko, something that will have terrible repurcussions and bring back the ghosts from her past.
