L'histoire m'a tout de suite captivée et je tournais les pages avec l'impatience de connai^tre la suite de tous ces rebondissements dans lesquels l'héroïne, Katya, essayait de tenir, tel un esquif dans la tempête, fragile, si vulnérable, mais trouvant toujours la force de continuer le combat et la volonté´ de l'emporter. Il faut dire qu'elle a une amie magnifique, Sofia, qui l'aide et la soutient. C'est donc aussi une belle histoire d'amitié, qui m'a beaucoup touchée. Le récit s'articule entre, d'une part, une guerre conjugale éprouvante, cruelle, déclenchée par un grave excès de violence du mari sur sa femme Katya et leur bébé´, et d'autre part une longue bataille juridique commencée de`s lors que Katya a fait appel à la Loi pour les protéger elle et l'enfant. La petite fille sera bien sûr l'enjeu de ce terrible conflit au fil duquel le lecteur se trouve confronté tant à la perversité du mari qu'aux rouages judiciaires complexes, voire absurdes, à la raideur de la Justice et à son incurie.Tout cela est émouvant, révoltant, intéressant, palpitant, bref, ça ne laisse pas le lecteur indifférent et encore moins la lectrice. D'autant que l'ouvrage dispense une information précieuse en matière de droits et de recours, de lois et de règlements, notions ardues vers lesquelles on ne va pas spontanément mais que là on déchiffre sans peine, peut-être parce qu'on est pris par l'histoire. Mais le texte nous renseigne aussi, hélas! sur les anomalies impensables, le refus borné de comprendre la plaignante, l'absence totale d'empathie à son égard et les obstacles toujours renouvelés, tout ce qui fait de son action en justice non pas seulement un parcours du combattant, mais un calvaire. Cependant, ce qui m'a rendu ce livre plaisant à lire c'est assurément l'écriture et la composition.La composition est claire, équilibrée, rigoureuse. Bien balancée, elle participe au crescendo dramatique des vicissitudes dans lesquelles Katya se débat, et elle met en relief son inépuisable courage. Quant à l'écriture, vive, précise, directe, sensible - avec pointes d'humour de ci de la` ! - elle est très expressive et attachante.Pour finir, je dirai que c'est un travail soigne´ et sincère ou` l'on sent d'emblée que l'auteur a des choses a` dire et qu'elle est bien décidée à les dire, quitte à nous révéler à quel point la Justice peut faillir a` sa mission et devenir une Machine quand elle est mise en branle.
