Magdalena is a friend to stray pets, homeless people, and wayward souls. One morning she stumbles into a mystery that leads her along a path that is strange, even for an unconventional free spirit like herself.

Tiffany's Trash and Treasure has been broken into, but no items have been stolen. Every available candle in the second-hand shop was set ablaze and is burning when poor Tiffany entered her resale store in the early morning.
