Kawabata Yasunari, who grew up alone as a child, traveled extensively throughout his life, and many of his classic works were written during his travels. For example, "Izu's Maiko-han" was written on the Izu Peninsula; "Snow Country" came from the hot springs of Yuzawa in northern China; and "Ancient Capital", which recalls the beauty of Kyoto's scenery and people, was written during his stay in Kyoto. However, his style of writing is unique, and his rich visual construction and sophisticated descriptions of the senses all began during his trip to Izu. This book contains 24 essays and essays by Yasunari Kawabata on the Izu Peninsula. The book describes in detail the scenery of Izu, the hot springs and the Izu girls. It is a glimpse into the place that the writer has loved for many years, and a glimpse into his travel essays to learn about the most original Japanese customs and how a lonely traveler can reconcile with the world in a foreign land.
