Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Journal of the British Archaeological Association, 1875, Vol. 31
The british archeological association was founded in 1843, to inves tigate, preserve, and illustrate, all ancient monuments of the history, manners, customs, and arts of our forefathers, in furtherance of the principles on which the Society of Antiquaries of London was established; and to aid the objects of that institution by rendering available resources which had not been drawn upon, and which, indeed, did not come within the scope of any antiquarian or literary society.
