Publisher's Synopsis

Joseph Smith The Twenty-Fifth, a new prophet, shows up in modern-day Salt Lake City. Seemingly miraculous events occur in his presence and his little band of followers vary from hardened-Agnostics to true believers. He initially seems to pose a threat to the LDS church, and he also seems to be a polygamist. He comes complete with his own twelve apostles and is sought out by sages from other worlds. But who he is and what his teachings are, and what his relationship to the LDS church is, can't easily be figured out. Much goes unsaid, and the reader's imagination is challenged at many points. People come to him in crisis, and unpredictable events and changes of heart ensue. But it is left to the reader to decide not only whether JS25 has any credibility, but whether the LDS church serves a beneficial purpose in the world. The book would not be convincing to the orthodox Mormon nor the hardened Atheists, but rather, it is written for those people who occupy the margins of those worlds and for whom no easy answer is going to work. It is a tale of love, hope and uncertainty.
