Freilich sind durch dieselbe die Briefe J oseph's noch immer nicht vollstandig geworden, indem etwa zwanzig, insoweit sich solches annahernd nachweisen l'asst, bis jetzt weder hier noch in Russland aufgefunden wurden. Ungleich weniger noch, und zwar kaum Vier oder funf der Briefe Katharina's an Joseph scheinen ebenfalls in Verlust gerathen zu sein. Wenn also auch die Samm lung, welche ich hiemit ans Licht treten lasse, keine absolut vollstandige genannt werden darf, so sind doch die Lucken hier offenbar ungleich weniger zahlreich und minder ins Gewicht fallend, als es bei den Correspondenzen der Fall war, die ich bisher zu veroffentlichen mir erlaubte.
