Excerpt from Johann Fischarts Geschichtklitterung (Gargantua)
Es war mir leider nicht möglich, auch die Drucke von 1600 (e), 1605 (f), 1608 (g), 1617 (h) und 1631 welche zum Theil Zusätze von fremder Hand enhalten, zu einer wört lichen Vsrgleichung mitherauzuziehsn; es hätte dann noch ftir längere Zeit die Vsrö?'sntlichung des Neudrucks aus gesetzt werden miissen. Meussbwh's Forderung jedoch in seiner bekannten Recension von Halliug's Ausgabe des "glückhaften dass einer der über Fischart richtig schreiben und drucken lassen will, Alles selbst einzusehen, von jedem Werke jeden Druck vor sich zu haben, nöthig hat, habe ich betre?'a der Ausgaben a, b, c und d gewissen haft erfüllt, und gebe ich im Nachfolgenden die Beschreibung der von mir benutzten Exemplare.
