Publisher's Synopsis

Life is good for 11 year old Jimmy. He enjoys his friends, day dreaming, fishing, his pet dog and playing baseball, basketball and football. He likes school, but likes summer vacation better. Every year he looks forward to the annual trip to the Jersey Shore with his parents and younger sister. This summer is different from all others. After a July rainstorm, Jimmy sits on his back deck to read his book about pirates. In the woods, he spots a large fallen tree branch and plans to pick it up and throw it in the camp fire wood pile, until the stick lifts its head. The tree branch is not a tree branch, and turns Jimmy into a local celebrity when he returns to school in the Fall.James Curtis Geist is a graduate of Nyack College and the Alliance Theological Seminary. He served as a Protestant Minister in New York City for five years and as a high school history teacher for 16 years. He has also worked as an advocate fighting against genocide in Sudan, modern day slavery, sweatshops and child labor.Since 2016, Geist has written a Memoir, a book on U.S. History, Global History, the U.S. Presidents, three Children's books, and eight books of poetry and anecdotes. He is not related to Bill Geist of CBS or Willie Geist of MsNBC, but wishes he was to ply some nepotism in finding a major publishing contract.
