Publisher's Synopsis

Life is good for 11 year old Jimmy. He likes school, but he likes the summer time better. He enjoys friends, day dreaming, fishing, his pet dog, and playing baseball, basketball and football. Every year he looks forward to the the family vacation they take at the New Jersey Shore. As the saying goes, "Friends, sun, sand and sea, sounds like summertime to me." As his grandfather was fond of saying, "If you are not barefoot, you are overdressed." This is the camping adventure of Jimmy and his family at the sea shore, and the memories that will follow him for a lifetime.James Curtis Geist is a graduate of Nyack College and the Alliance Theological Seminary. He served as a minister for five years in New York City and as a high school history teacher for sixteen years in N.Y.C. and Newark. He was voted Teacher of the Year in 2012 by his peers and has been an activist against modern day slavery, genocide in Sudan, sweatshops and child labor.Since 2016, Geist has written a Memoir, three Children's books, a book on U.S. History, Global Studies, the U.S. Presidents, and eight books of poetry and anecdotes. He is not related to Bill Geist of CBS or Willie Geist of MsNBC, but wished he could take advantage of nepotism for connections to the big time publishers. James is married and lives in the northern woods of New Jersey.
