Albert Walter Tolman (1866-1965) was the American author who wrote the Jim Spurling series which includes: Jim Spurling: Fisherman; or, Making Good (1918), Jim Spurling: Millman (1921), Jim Spurling: Leader; or, Ocean Camp (1926) and Jim Spurling: Trawler; or, Fishing with Cap'n Tom (1927). He contributed pieces to The Youth's Companion and Reedy's Mirror magazines including: The Buckaroo (1916), Gray Snow (1916), Greasing the Tram (1916), Painting Healthy Hal (1917) and After the Flash (1917).
