Jewish Lives - Living Faith S.

Designed particularly for the 11 to 14 age group, this text is part of a series aiming to provide lively narratives about real people and communities whose lives are strongly motivated by their faith. There are three stories in each book, plus a general introduction to the religion in question and sets of questions follow each story. These have been specially designed to test knowledge and understanding and to provide ideas for class project work and group discussion. There is a word list for specialist terms which are highlighed in bold type in the text, and selected customs, festivals and rituals are introduced into the stories to give teachers useful taking-off points for more detailed study.;The books have been designed specially to provide starting points for thematic and topic work in Religious Education, and as support material for the study of some of the major religions.;"Jewish Lives" highlights Judaic customs, rituals and festivals such as Passover, Purim and Hanukah in order to provide useful background information and encourage pupils to conduct more detailed individual study.
