Jerry Perlet's Dragon Stories, Sarah's Adventures with the Dragon is a compilation of many years of storytelling about the dragon who lives on the mountain and befriends the children. The first dragon story was told to a group of students at Monocacy Elementary School in Montgomery County, Maryland as they waited for a late bus. The setting comes from Sugarloaf Mountain and the many farm houses in the area. Students at Monocacy and Sherwood Elementary School contributed many ideas to the stories. The stories tell of 14 adventures with a friendly magical dragon. Children learn many lessons about loyalty, friendship, problem-solving, following directions, and enjoying childhood.
