On the street, survival comes at a price... Daisy Lane's nightclub is bringing in money, helped by her connections to notorious gangster Roy Kemp. Roy's presence gives Daisy's club an air of glamour, but when he leaves for London the punters disappear, and Daisy's fortunes take a spectacular fall. She takes comfort in her son Eddie, who is growing up as courageous and spirited as his father, but his younger brother Jamie couldn't be more different - deeply disturbed, he is capable of the most brutal violence. Meanwhile there's a killer at work in Gosport. Daisy spots him and takes it upon herself to have him apprehended - with devastating consequences.
