Originally written in Dutch, Jahangir's India is the English version of Remonstrantie translated by W.H. Moreland and P. Geyl. The book contains a vivid description of Mughal provinces, such as Agra, Gujarat, Deccan, Kashmir, etc. It also mentions the trading networks in Gujarat, Agra, and other places. The author discusses the emergence and mercantile activities conducted by the East India Company and the Dutch trade activities in India. Besides the economic description, the Dutch writer touches upon the society, and superstitious beliefs in India, including notes on Hinduism and Islam.
