It is good reading for boys and girls of the elementary school level through early middle school age. In this first book is the story of Jacob, his having been raised by Indians after the loss of his parents. It shows his adventurous side and his love of the mountains and desire to live high above the tribes and towns below. This volume begins the legend of JACOB KING OF THE HIGH COUNTRY and his rescue of and bonding with "Griz", an orphaned bear cub. It is the author's hope that reading skills are developed as the reader enjoys and looks forward to future volumes of adventure and intrigue.
