For four young officers, the new decree is nothing short of a ghastly nightmare. When they are ordered to assist in expanding the boundary of the parish, they discover something living in the mountains that not only violates the new law but is something they learn should be left alone. When the ruler decides otherwise, an unforgiving and revengeful disaster is unleashed upon the town.
