It's a ghost! Or is it?
Children will follow our nine-year-old hero, Izzy Spector, as she navigates through local mysteries and tales of ghosts in the haunted town of Cold Harbor, Virginia. Izzy uses her own ghost sense and the computer and science genius of her friend Maria to solve these mysteries. There are plenty of red-herrings along the way, of course. The local bully, Havelok Grimm, attempts to sidetrack the young sleuths as they solve the mystery. But, with the aid of Izzy's friendly younger brother, Inky, the girls know they will find the real culprit in the end.
The first mystery in this series leads our young heroes to the creepy old Grimm House. Some local children have reported seeing and hearing a ghost dog haunting the grounds and surrounding forest. The mystery is especially close to Izzy's heart as her dog, Scratchy, recently ran after a lost ghost in the forest and has disappeared.
Will the ghost dog be Scratchy? Or, will it be a real ghost dog from the Revolutionary War era? Or someone pretending to be a ghost dog? Children will need to follow the clues to find out.
