Publisher's Synopsis
From spring 1915 to autumn 1917 the river Isonzo-Soca in Slovene - was the main battlefield of war between the Austrian Empire and the young Italian nation-state. After general Luigi Cadorna's 11 unsuccessful offensives in October 1917, the armies of the Austrian and German Empires forced Italian troops back over a distance of 150 kilometers. A new frontline was established along the river Piave.
