Publisher's Synopsis

William Butler Yeats was an Irish poet and one of the foremost figures of 20th century literature, receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923. A pillar of the Irish literary establishment, he helped to found the Abbey Theatre and in his later years served two terms as a Senator of the Irish Free State. He became fascinated by Irish legends and the occult from a young age and these topics feature in his early work. Published in 1892, this is the second of two collections of Irish Fairy Tales which he edited, and it includes two illustrations by his brother Jack.
