Publisher's Synopsis
This book presents a comprehensive view of both Russian and Western results, and discussion of the physico-chemical properties of solutions and processes within them. Emphasis is given to the chemical aspects of solvation as determined by the nature solvents and electrolytes, and by the influence of external conditions, solution composition, isotropy, admixtures and so on. The book contains a description of the relation between complex solvation processes and ion-solvent molecule interactions, and the detailed analysis of the quantitative characteristics of ions in solution should suggest new and effective aproaches to studying reactivity and mechanisms.
