Welcome to Introduction to Leadership: Growing in the Call. This workbook is the second of a series of three workbooks designed for Christians seeking to go deeper and high school students who want to learn more about what the Bible has to say about discipleship, Christian leadership, and living a meaningful and impacting life. The workbooks focus on three aspects of maturing as a Christian leader: - Introduction to Discipleship: Responding to the Call - CHARACTER - Introduction to Leadership: Growing in the Call - COMPETENCIES - Introduction to Life Planning: Achieving the Call - CALLING Each of these workbooks is a stand-alone study but they are also designed to complement each other. In this workbook, you will be helped to discover what the Bible has to say about the character, competencies, and calling that are part of maturing as a Christian leader who honors God and influences others in kingdom impacting ways. At the core, leadership is influence. We all influence others in small or large ways. You do not have to be in a leadership role to be a leader. Becoming a mature leader starts with influencing those in your current sphere of influence. Introduction to Leadership: Growing in the Call is formatted using the IDEA approach of discovery learning for life transformation. Each chapter begins with an Introduction (I), followed by Discovery (D), Explanation (E), and Application (A) sections. The goal of the IDEA approach is to facilitate the "gracious work" of God through his Word and Spirit to help transform you "into his likeness with ever increasing glory..." (II Corinthians 3: 18, NIV) so that you can become the type of leader that honors God and influences others for God's purposes.
