Publisher's Synopsis
Interventional radiology encompasses image-guided invasive medical procedures to diagnose and treat various pathologies. Vascular interventional neuroradiology uses cerebral angiography to treat vascular pathologies of the central nervous system. Angiography, which can be converted into endovascular treatment, enables interventions such as embolization, which treats vascular malformations by catheterization. Endovascular techniques offer therapeutic alternatives for a variety of conditions, including cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and acute strokes.
