Publisher's Synopsis
Conceptual and substantive essays on international relations by Indian and Western scholars are brought together in Interpreting World Politics. The book opens with a critical review of international relations theory which is almost exclusively dominated by post-1945 Anglo-American studies and is primarily parochial in nature and suggests that there may exist a basis for theoretical synthesis. The essays in the second part consider issues relating to the notion of an international society. The final section presents case studies on regional politics and essays on foreign policy.
