Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Interpretation of a Dynamical Approximation of Isotropic Turbulence
Equation or cannot be solved directly for or because of the presence of the third-order moments on the right sides. Equations of motion for the third-order moments can be obtained by multiplying with suitable bilinear expressions and averaging, but as a consequence of the nonlinearity these equations contain fourth-order moments. One does not obtain a closed set of equations for moments of any given orders simply by multiplying with various functions and averaging.
