It features a comprehensive assessment of peritoneal permeability in individual patients with systemic diseases and a study of ultrafiltration and clearance performed on samples of human peritoneal tissue in vitro.;The second part of the publication looks at cardiovascular complications, which have become by far the most frequent causes of morbidity and mortality in dialysis patients. Topics include a discussion on the pathophysiology of hypertension in patients on renal replacement therapy and an article on the treatment of hypertension in patients with end-stage renal failure.
