Uplands represent the vast majority of land area in national park units of the Northern Colorado Plateau Network (NCPN). These upland areas include rock outcrops, bad-lands, shrublands, grasslands, woodlands, forests, and subalpine meadows, with lo-cal vegetation determined by soil type and depth, topography, climate, and disturbance history.
