Publisher's Synopsis
Life is a funny thing. Right as I'm publishing the 20-year update on "my firstborn book", I also have the rights to publish the third release of it. Once under Relevant Books, then under Simon & Brown, now it is under my own imprint Perez Linen.
Inside of Me: Lessons of Lust, Love and Redemption is a book that I wrote at 29 that ended up chronicling so much of what I went through when it comes to the matters of the heart and, quite frankly, the bedroom. If you've been in your 20s before (and you're willing to admit it), I'm sure you remember that being a season of when it was oftentimes super challenging to not confuse the difference between the two. Anyway, in this read, there is love, lust, heartbreak, consequences and life-altering ah-ha moments that I think landed me the original book deal in the first place because it all comes from a very open and candid space. A friend of mine once said that he only believes that liars get writer's block because if you always tell the truth, there is always something to say. This offering is one live-and-in-living color example of that...that's for sure. In fact, back when the first edition came out, mothers would come to my book signings and ask me to autograph it for their daughters, so that they could read it when either their period started or they had their first real relationship---whichever came first. I think that was very wise because, although this book is my story and has helped me to heal in many ways, even 20 years later, if you want to help someone to learn the difference between discerning vs. experiencing, get them this. On the other hand, if you've made some sex or relationship-related decisions that you're not exactly proud of and you need someone who can relate to you, get this. If you are at a bit of a spiritual crossroad and you're looking for some clarity about how God sees you as opposed to what church tells you about how God sees you, get this. Or, if you already purchased Inside of Me 2.0 and you need to connect a few dots...you already know: get this. I could go on and on about this baby of mine but then, why would you need to buy the book? For now, just know that it's an honest take on where I was in my 20s from a then Christian point of view. Well, kind of. Like I said, get the book for all of this to make (more) sense.
