It is basically a 'backyard' house that is meant to be a second structure on the property. Included are floor layouts, measurement drawings, costing list, finance hints, elevation drawings, furniture placement suggestions, breaker box and wiring suggestions, plus code and inspection information. This book does not include the architectural or the site plans, those have to be done by yourself or a professional architect. It is not a 'sales' tool to get you to purchase expensive plan books, as some small house books do. It does NOT teach you how to solder, nail, plaster, shingle, paint, or do any of the other building techniques you shall need for each of these subjects fill manuals that are hundreds of pages in length. The author, William (Bill) C. McElroy is the author of Fences and Retaining Walls, The Painter's Handbook (Craftsman Book Company), and The Roof Builder's Handbook (Prentice Hall).
