This book describes the origin and concept of the Integrated Urban Infrastructure Development Programme (IUIDP) in Indonesia. It describes the emerging issues of urban management and training, of local resource mobilization, of public-private partnership projects, of community participation, and looks at the results of the first years of IUIDP and provides a medium-term outlook for IUIDP in the future.;The implementation of the the IUIDP as an urban management approach has encouraged the issues to policy statements by government that are important in guiding and initiating all development programmes. It appears that the ambitious development goals of Indonesia's urban development strategy and special programmes such as the IUIDP can achieve their intended strength and impact best if an effective working relationship between public, private and community sectors is built up.
