Thomas Davies, Mia Smith, Derek Smith, and Sarah Jacobs all find themselves thrown into a pulsating mystery adventure taking them from their comfortable home in Peninsula Bay, South Africa, to Lake Guatavita, Colombia, when Thomas Davies (the poor, orphan boy) finds the Golden Medallion, and a thousand other gold coins, driving him crazy, trying to find the lost city. A group of researchers - led by a bigger group of mercenaries try and get Thomas as quick as possible, while the foursome try to find the lost city themselves. With the threat of the Medallion and the consuming power that follows, they find the second medallion, and the lost city of gold . . . But at what cost?
