To the throne, that Milton, till then resident in his father's house in Bread Street, Cheapside, in the very heart of Old London, went to Cambridge for the com pletion of his education; and he continued in resi dence there, save for runs up to London or other absences, for seven years and five months, bringing him from the seventeenth year of his age to the twenty-fourth.
