Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Lange, Tom Felton and Oscar Isaac star in this drama inspired by the novel 'Thérèse Raquin' by French author Émile Zola. When Thérèse (Olsen), an illegitimate child in the care of her aunt, Madame Raquin (Lange), reaches maturity, she naturally begins to dream of making her own life and spreading her wings. However, Madame Raquin is a hard-bitten realist and informs the girl that the best she can do is marry her poorly cousin Camille (Felton). Though she is repelled by Camille, Thérèse is forced to oblige but, once married, quickly begins an affair with his dashing friend Laurent (Isaac). As passions soar and Thérèse chafes for the freedom her aunt has denied her, the lovers hatch a plan that could have devastating consequences for all concerned...
