Publisher's Synopsis
In 1898 Bridget, Sarah and Ruth leave the Dublin orphanage to enter a life of service. The three young women are placed in the home of Georgina Corrigan Whitmore. The house on Percy Place is not the 'big house' the orphans have been trained to serve. The upstairs and downstairs in not as clearly defined in the upmarket terrace house as the orphans expected. The troubles brought to Georgina's door would break all but the strongest of women. Does she have what it takes to chart a new course for her future and that of the young girls placed in her care?
