Shanica has been fighting to survive since she was a little girl. She experienced firsthand the trauma of living with a single mother addicted to drugs and growing up in the rough streets on the northside of Omaha, Nebraska. Shanica experienced physical abuse, the death of her little sister, and she was the caregiver for her younger siblings when she was just a child herself. Despite every setback, she built a wall of perseverance around herself that would never break. Her greatest power was dreaming bigger than the environment she grew up in.
Imperfect Reflections, is a story of overcoming life's challenges and a testament of a young girl that refused to quit. When life dealt her cards of bad luck, she learned how to build her faith and trust in God. Against all odds- rape, teenage pregnancy, and becoming a young widow, she kept moving forward becoming better and not bitter. Shanica learned to forgive and build her life from her broken pieces. Today she lives a successful life and is a serial entrepreneur and mentor that teaches others how to create the life God intended for them.
