This book brings together papers that deal with immigration in Israel and the USA. Three substantive areas are introduced ? economic integration, immigrant absorption and visual sociology. The first examines how immigrants make a living in their destination country and looks in particular at immigrant entrepreneurship. The second area considers the absorption (i.e. assimilation and acculturation) of immigrants. The final section considers sociological commentary and photography that deal with immigration issues ? a new genre in sociological approaches.
