The fallout from that night was as mysterious as it was disastrous. Sheriff Sam Clayton rode off into the Beothuk territories, never to return. First Deputy Tom Masters supposedly succumbed to injuries while escorting a group of survivors across the wasteland. And perhaps most famously, the town's doctor vanished, leaving behind only the body of his beloved wife and several brutally murdered Seneca deputies and Beothuk. That one night created a chain of events that led to complete upheaval, but nobody ever heard the full story. Not till now.
